Spinocerebellum
Vestibulocerebellum : Primarily involved in maintaining balance and postural equilibrium. It receives input from the vestibular system (inner ear) and controls movements that regulate the eyes (e.g., the vestibulo-ocular reflex) to ensure a stable gaze during movement.
Spinocerebellum : Involved in controlling muscle tone and coordinating movements of the trunk and limbs.
Cerebrocerebellum : Primarily involved in planning and initiating voluntary movements and plays a key role in complex cognitive functions. It receives input from the cerebral cortex (via the pons) and helps in the precise timing and sequencing of movements, as well as the evaluation of sensory information for action.
