Learning

"Learning" in the context of neuroscience and psychology is defined as the relatively permanent change in an organism's behavior, knowledge, or understanding that results from experience. It is the process by which we acquire new information, skills, and associations.
  • Classical Conditioning: A learning process in which a neutral stimulus becomes associated with a meaningful stimulus, eliciting a similar response
  • Operant Conditioning: A learning process in which behavior is modified by its consequences through reinforcement or punishment
  • Latent Learning: Learning that occurs without immediate reinforcement and is not immediately demonstrated in behavior
  • Hebbian Learning: A neurological learning principle stating that neurons that fire together wire together, strengthening synaptic connections
