Cluster A (Odd/Eccentric)

Features behaviors that seem peculiar or strange to others. Includes Paranoid, Schizoid, and Schizotypal Personality Disorders. They involve social withdrawal and distrust.

Paranoid Personality Disorder: A pattern of pervasive distrust and suspiciousness of others, interpreting their motives as malevolent

Schizoid Personality Disorder: A pattern of detachment from social relationships and a restricted range of emotional expression in interpersonal settings

Schizotypal Personality Disorder: A pattern of acute discomfort in close relationships, cognitive or perceptual distortions, and eccentricities of behavior

Cluster B (Dramatic/Emotional/Erratic)

Characterized by difficulties with impulse control and emotional regulation. Includes Antisocial, Borderline, Histrionic, and Narcissistic Personality Disorders.

Antisocial Personality Disorder: A pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others, lack of empathy, and impulsive behavior

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD): A pattern of instability in interpersonal relationships, self-image, and affects, along with marked impulsivity

Histrionic Personality Disorder: A pattern of excessive emotionality and attention-seeking behavior

Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD): A pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and lack of empathy for others

Cluster C (Anxious/Fearful)

Features anxious, fearful, or avoidant behaviors. Includes Avoidant, Dependent, and Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorders (distinct from OCD).

Avoidant Personality Disorder: A pattern of social inhibition, feelings of inadequacy, and hypersensitivity to negative evaluation

Dependent Personality Disorder: A pattern of submissive and clinging behavior related to an excessive need to be taken care of

Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD): A pattern of preoccupation with orderliness, perfectionism, and control at the expense of flexibility and efficiency
